Our Mission:

To educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.

What is Girls on the Run?

Girls on the Run is a life-changing learning program for girls in grades 3-8th. The program combines training for a 5K (3.1 mile) running event with healthy living education. Our programs instill self-esteem and strong values through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships and physical training - all of which are accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff and the community.

Girls on the Run of New Castle County is an Affiliate Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 160 locations across the United States and Canada.

The Iguanas, a New Orleans Jazz Band will be celebrating Girls on the Run in WIlmington.
